Developed by experts in the field of education and performance nutrition this course aims to arm you with evidence based nutrition knowledge to help you strengthen your expertise in this area. The course address some of the most common nutrition queries, myths and diet fads circulating in the industry allowing you to support your clients’ health and fitness journey with up to date practice based nutrition information.

The “Optimum Nutrition for Health and Performance” course offers a Certificate in Nutrition endorsed by the Association for Nutrition and is approved for CPD points by a number of professional associations including the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs), the Register of Exercise Professionals Ireland (REPs Ireland) and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). You will also have the opportunity to join our Optimum Nutrition Coaches Programme. The course is provided at a great value price to enable as many Personal trainers and Coaches as possible to up skill their nutrition.

Why should I do the course?

How much is the course?

The course is provided at a great value price to support as many fitness professionals and coaches as possible in up-skilling their nutrition knowledge. A one off payment of £99 gives you access to the course as well as a knowledge bank of nutrition articles and audio interviews to support your continuous learning.

Is the course only available for personal trainers?

The course is available to anyone who is interested in upskilling their knowledge in the area of nutrition for health and performance, although created primarily with the fitness professional in mind.

What qualification will I gain from the course?

Once you have completed all 13 modules and assessments you will have completed a certified AfN course at Level 4 of the Health and Leisure Framework and will gain an 'Optimum Nutrition for Health and Performance' certificate. If you are a REPs Ireland or CIMSPA member you will also receive 7 and 4 CPD points respectively.

What happens after I complete the course?

Once you have completed all 13 modules and assessments you will receive your certificate in nutrition accredited by the Afn. You will also have access to ongoing Nutrition Education information through our Optimum Nutrition Coaches Facebook Group and monthly newsletter.

Will I be a qualified nutritionist after the course?

You will have a certificate in nutrition and will be able to provide evidence-based nutritional guidelines for your clients based on the healthy eating guidelines but you will not be a qualified nutritionist.

Will I earn CPD points from doing the course?

Yes, the course is CIMSPA & REPS Ireland recognised and you will earn 4 and 7 CPD points respectively upon completion.

How long does the course take to complete?

There are 13 on demand modules in our 'Optimum Nutrition for Health and Performance' course. Each module consists of approximately 45 minute video lectures with built in assessments. In total there are approximately 7 and a half hours of course content to complete which are available on demand to suit your time schedule.

Do I have to be online at an exact time to study?

No, the lectures are not live, therefore you can watch and complete each module whenever you wish.

Do I have to do an exam to pass?

At the end of each module there is a short multiple choice assessment that consists of 10 questions which you must answer correctly in order to proceed to the next module. You have 3 attempts to answer the questions correctly. If you fail on all 3 attempts you will be locked out from completing the assessment for 24 hours. You will still have access to the videos within the module so you are free to revise as you see fit. Once the 24 hours have passed you will have a further 3 attempts to pass the assessment.

What is the pass rate requirement?

The pass rate requirement is 100%. At the end of each module there is a short multiple choice assessment that consists of 10 questions which you must answer correctly in order to proceed to the next module. You have 3 attempts to answer the questions correctly. If you fail on all 3 attempts you will be locked out from completing the assessment for 24 hours. You will still have access to the videos within the module so you are free to revise as you see fit. Once the 24 hours have passed you will have a further 3 attempts to pass the assessment.

How long do I have access to the course materials?

Active accounts will have access to our course materials and continuous learning resources for 24 months.
